SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGs)

The SDG division is responsible for coordinating the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to Somalia’s progress toward the 2030 Agenda. The section works closely with national institutions, development partners and international organizations to ensure the availability of reliable, timely and disaggregated data for SDG indicators. It also supports data gap assessments, capacity building and alignment of national statistical efforts with global monitoring frameworks, thereby enabling evidence-based planning, policy formulation, and international reporting.

Strategic Objectives

  • Strengthen the Monitoring, Reporting, and Analysis of SDG Data
  • Strengthen SDG Data Reporting at the Local Levels
  • Fill data gaps in SDGs where considerable indicator reporting is lacking.
  • Coordinate and strengthen national efforts in the production, analysis and dissemination of SDG data.
  • Identify and address data gaps through capacity building, technical support and institutional collaboration.
  • Promote the integration of SDG monitoring into national statistical systems and development frameworks to enhance policy coherence and interinstitutional collaboration.
